What does a subscription app need from Meta ads?

An app sells a habit, so the ad has to find people who stay. Win & Scale judges the web part of the funnel and says where it stops.

  • “Trials are cheap. Paying subscribers are not.”

A free trial is the easiest thing to get someone to start. When the subscription is sold on the web, Win & Scale judges the ad on purchases. A trial that starts inside the app store is outside what it can see.

  • “Every demo looks the same to us.”

Problem hooks, feature reveals and creator reviews pile up under names like Demo_v7. Which one brought paying signups is lost by the time the next one is briefed.

  • “Install numbers don’t match anywhere.”

Win & Scale doesn’t read app installs or SKAdNetwork postbacks, and doesn’t pretend to. It reads the web events Meta reports, and says when a number is stale or spend is untagged.

Judge each ad on the event it was bought for.

Your agent judges a web checkout on purchases and an instant form on form leads, each against the rest of the account. The evidence check lists what Meta can’t see.

  • meta_get_evidence_health checks the numbers are fresh, and lists the outcomes Meta cannot see.
  • meta_get_history_winners judges on the event each ad set was bought for, not on Meta’s “Results”.
  • meta_get_audience_breakdown shows which ages and placements still convert.
A live test for Daybloom, a fictional brand, day 4 of 7, question frozen, two observations. The pov meme has 2 of the 10 events its rule asked for, so the reading is inconclusive and too early. Below it, one proposed learning from a concluded test: a delivery date in the first line beats a discount for returning buyers. It counts only once you approve it.

Know which problem hook brought subscribers.

Win & Scale stores what each creative is as Values: its angle, persona, format and hook. The ad name stays a hint, so a lesson survives the rename.

  • meta_tag_creatives tags each demo, screen recording and creator review with its angle, persona, format and hook.
  • meta_get_cross_analysis compares two of them, such as persona by hook.
  • meta_transcribe_creative reads what each demo actually says, line by line.
A Library creative, Daybloom's POV meme (a fictional brand), a static read as an image: its Values are the angle One calm view, the persona Overloaded planner, the format POV meme and the hook POV to-do list fits one screen, with the line the agent read, “POV: your to-do list finally fits on one screen.”, and each trait marked Winner, In line or Low delivery, inconclusive.

Test the demo that tells one story.

Your agent turns the next idea into a test, with its question frozen up front: what changes, what stays, and how it will be judged. Results are added to the record, never rewritten.

  • meta_suggest_next suggests which hook or demo deserves the next test slot.
  • meta_create_test writes down the question, and how it will be judged, before any result comes in.
  • meta_conclude_test waits for enough results, then files the lesson for the next launch.
The Briefs window on its Tests tab. A suggested test for Daybloom, a fictional brand: POV meme for the Overloaded planner, set against the offer card. It says what could mislead it and what would prove it wrong. Committing it calls meta_create_test.

Brief the trial. Launch it paused. You turn it on.

Your agent builds the launch for the web leg of your funnel with nothing spending. StartTrial and Subscribe can be set as a launch’s optimisation event, but ads are judged on purchases and leads.

  • meta_list_pages_and_pixels shows the Page and pixel a launch will use, because a conversion event needs a pixel.
  • meta_launch_ads builds the campaign, ad set and ads paused, and flags copy your strategy doesn’t back.
  • meta_activate spends nothing until you say go. Your agent asks you first.
An agent calls meta_launch_ads for Daybloom, a fictional apps brand, and gets back a paused launch: the campaign, the ad set and three ads, all Paused, with Activate waiting for the owner.

What can a subscription app ask its AI agent?

Ask the way you would ask a media buyer who knows your funnel. Your agent checks the evidence before it answers.

  • What can't you seeWhich of our results can you actually judge, and which can't you see? Don’t change anything.
  • What soldWhich problem hooks and demos produced purchases over the last 180 days?
  • Compare personasCompare persona by hook across the last 180 days, judged on purchases.
  • Launch pausedAnswered in the conversation: Launch the busy-parent demo to the web checkout. Leave it paused for me.
  • Sort the demosTag this week’s screen recordings and tell me which three to test first.
  • Brief the trialBrief three ads for the free trial from what sold, in our brand voice.

Built 1 campaign, 1 ad set and 3 demo ads sending to your web checkout, all paused. I judge them on purchases. I can’t see app installs.

What does your agent tag on every app ad?

Every ad is tagged with Values: its angle, persona, format and hook. Results compare even when ad names don't.

ValuesYour account’s Values come from your own creatives.

Questions, answered

Everything else is in the docs.

Can an AI agent run Meta ads for a subscription app?
Yes, for the part of the funnel that runs through the web. An AI agent such as Claude Code or ChatGPT can run Win & Scale launches that send people to a web checkout, a trial sign-up page or an instant form.
Can Win & Scale measure app installs?
Not today. Win & Scale judges creatives on web and instant-form outcomes such as purchases and leads, and does not read app-install counts or SKAdNetwork postbacks.
Can a launch optimise for StartTrial or Subscribe?
Yes, with a pixel on the account, meta_launch_ads can set StartTrial or Subscribe as the optimisation event. Win & Scale does not judge ads on them yet, only on purchases, leads and the other events it reads.
Will my agent launch ads without asking?
No, every launch is created paused. Turning one on is a separate call, meta_activate, and your agent asks you first.
How much does Win & Scale cost for a subscription app?
Win & Scale starts with a 7-day free trial that includes every feature. After it, each ad account pays a flat monthly price by ad spend, from $49 a month for up to $10k.
Which AI agents work with Win & Scale?
Any AI agent that connects over MCP works with Win & Scale, including Claude Code, Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and Codex. Agent calls cost 0 AI credits, because they run on your own plan.
